Carte Blanche to Maaya Wakasugi
Calligraphy exhibition and demonstrations at the Fayet Museum
I am honored to announce that my works will be exhibited at the Musée Fayet in Béziers from September 20 to October 31. On September 20 and 21, as part of the European Heritage Days, I will also have the pleasure of presenting a calligraphy demonstration as well as an introductory workshop.
It is a great joy and a profound honor for me to take part in this event, during which monuments and treasures usually closed to the public are exceptionally opened, allowing citizens to reconnect with their cultural heritage. The museum is currently hosting the special exhibition “Gustave Fayet and Japan.” Gustave Fayet (1865–1925) was a major collector of Japanese art from the late 19th to the early 20th century. He assembled prints, lacquerware, textiles, Buddhist objects, and many other treasures, integrating Japanese aesthetics into his own creations. In doing so, he helped radiate the “beauty of Japan” within the artistic culture of France and Europe. I would like to express my deepest gratitude for this privileged connection with such a great artist, as well as to the museum and to all those who support and organize this project.
